Reflecting on my experience in the New Media Marketing course, I must say this has been the most challenging class in the program so far. Several factors contributed to this difficulty. Initially, I had managed to stick to my preferred learning methods without much deviation. However, the requirement for in-text citations forced me out of my comfort zone. Unlike my usual approach of understanding and integrating concepts with my professional experiences, I had to adapt to a more structured method of referencing sources throughout my writing, which was initially uncomfortable.
Moreover, the timing of this course coincided with an exceptionally busy period at work, which added to the challenge. Completing assignments with ample time is vastly different from trying to finish them at 2 AM after a sixteen-hour workday. Despite these difficulties, I understand that such experiences are part of the learning process. The discomfort signifies growth, and for that, I am ultimately grateful.
One key takeaway from this course is the significance of an influencer program for our final project. The dynamic nature of social media marketing requires continuous learning and adaptation. Staying at the forefront of this field is indeed challenging, but this course has reinforced the importance of being proactive and open to new strategies and changes. The ever-evolving landscape of social media marketing demands that we remain lifelong learners, always ready to update our methods and practices to stay relevant.
This month’s coursework has been instrumental in formulating a comprehensive digital marketing plan for my case study organization, Lolico. The focus on New Media Marketing has provided valuable insights into leveraging modern digital platforms and strategies, which are crucial for reaching and engaging our target audience. Specifically, learning about the importance of promoting and amplifying content has highlighted that creating high-quality content is just one part of the equation; ensuring that it reaches the right audience through effective promotion is equally vital.

It is critical to identify and align with the right influencers who resonate with our brand values and audience demographics.
